Small Glass Beach Heart Pendant

This listing is for a small fused glass heart pendant, approximately 1 1/2 inches in diameter (approx. 38 mm), created in my home studio. They come with an adjustable cotton cord. There are two color styles available, however, they are very similar: one is aqua blue and turquoise blue, and another with aqua blue and a darker true blue. These are similar in coloration to the beach glass pocket hearts, just smaller, thinner, and lighter.

To make these, I slowly heat crushed glass over a 16-hour firing cycle to approximately 1500 degrees, at which point the glass liquefies and melts into the heart-shaped mold. The result reveals the ocean and surf design seen here in this listing. The "water" part of the design captures the effervescence of the crashing surf with tiny bubbles throughout. The sand is made with a fine-grain mix of colored crushed glass.

The beach inspired this beach heart design - the surf, the sand, the sea, and the sun. I live near Honeymoon Island in Dunedin, Florida, and the beautiful colors of the sand and water inspired me to create this heart. These hearts look like the perfect beach day in glass!
