Glass Beach Heart, Pocket Heart, Light Aqua and Turquoise Glass Heart

This listing is for a handmade fused glass heart, created in my home studio. To make these, I slowly heat crushed glass over a 16-hour firing cycle to approximately 1500 degrees, at which point the glass liquefies and melts into the heart-shaped mold. The result reveals the ocean and surf design seen here in this listing. The "water" part of the design captures the effervescence of the crashing surf with tiny bubbles throughout. The sand is made with a fine-grain mix of colored crushed glass.

These hearts are approximately 2 inches by 2 inches and come shipped in a small colored organza bag. This item is not meant to be a paperweight and only weighs approximately 30 - 40 grams.

These beautiful hearts are a loving reminder of another person, a token of friendship, or a way to symbolize a connection with someone. Keep this with you in your pocket, on your desk, on your night table, in your car, or in your purse. Or give it as a gift to someone you care about to let them know you are always thinking about them!

This heart was particularly inspired by the beach - the surf, the sand, the sea, and the sun. It's a beautiful day captured in glass. The aqua blue contrasted against the sand and surf is the perfect way to say "I love the beach!" I live near Honeymoon Island in Dunedin, Florida, and I used the beautiful beach area here to inspire this heart.

These hearts come packed in a nice organza bag, and make great stocking stuffers! They also make fantastic gift toppers, wedding favors, or memorial gifts - nice keepsake tokens for guests at services for loved ones. The heart you receive will not be exactly like the photo but is very similar, with the same coloring and pattern.
